Sergey Nazarov stated, I am amazed by what Chainlink has already been used to create, and am deeply grateful to all the people working on it. Thank you for all the various support, long nights and hard work. We are all building the smart contract industry into something truly world changing, together.
Early on Sergey expressed that he was deeply grateful to all the amazing coauthors of the Chainlink 2.0 whitepaper, thank you for the deep thought and care you’ve put into helping define the future of how decentralized oracle networks will redefine our industry via hybrid smart contracts.
For clarity, Hybrid smart contracts combine a growing set of oracle-powered off-chain services that interact with and augment the on-chain code which defines a smart contract’s conditions, enabling fully-featured dApps that are redefining the blockchain industry.
When talking about Achieving Definitive Truth with chainlink Oracle Networks previously he stated, Decentralized Oracle Networks and Blockchains have distinctly different but very complementary goals. Blockchains create immutable on-chain state and computations, while oracle networks provide them with key off-chain inputs, without creating a blockchain.
For the rapidly expanding economy of Non-Fungible Tokens, the many types that exist today, and the importance of Chainlink -powered randomness for guaranteeing provably rare NFT traits and verifiably fair distribution cannot be over stated. ChainLink are exploring more in this regard.
This they consider is important because, the value of NFTs is derived from their provable rarity Chainlink VRF provides platforms like Ether Cards with a secure source of randomness to ensure every NFT minted is assigned verifiably rare traits, enabling provably unique digital collectibles.
It is very obvious that as the limitations of smart contracts are solved, the ability to reinvent multiple industries is emerging; ownership being tokenized, global finance becoming DeFi, digital art becoming NFTs, and many more.
Sergey keeps reinstating on how the difference between paper promises/brand-based contracts and cryptographic/math-based contracts will continue to become clearer as paper promises fail. Reaching a tipping point where smart contracts become the expected global standard for all contracts.
To get all this going, ChainLink are growing their team to support the rapid adoption of ChainLink and to meet the increasing demand for reliable oracles in DeFi and the larger blockchain ecosystems.
The need for trustworthy contracts that go beyond a brand’s paper promises are highly in-demand and link are continuing to improve on the smart contract features to make it possible.
And, it cannot be denied as Sergey states, whether it’s communication, free speech or fair participation in markets, “brand-based” platforms will always put their monopolistic interests ahead of average users.
