IOTA Streams is an evolution of Masked Authenticated Messaging (MAM). While they have made great progress in its development, they are now inviting the community to test their functionality while getting ready for a great beta release.
IOTA tweeted: “IOTA Streams Alpha Update, Sept 2020 – We’ve made substantial progress w/ the team developing #IOTAStreams and the core code. Everybody is invited to test some of the new functionalities while we transition #IOTA Streams to beta.”
For those who do not know: IOTA Streams is a framework meant to send secure messages and data streams. This provides for a universal method for the devices by which it becomes easy to communicate in a secure and private manner on the Tangle. The IOTA Streams have now been rewritten from the ground up to provide for a lot of flexibility, functionality, and improved ease of use.
While they are now releasing the update for IOTA Streams, they have to state that the progression of IOTA streams from Alpha to Beta will happen with the transition of the IOTA protocol through Chrysalis Phase 2. The details of the improvements in the update are already provided. Lot of information is already available in their blog and they are set to release more information and material later this month.
This update provides improved efficiency to IOTA streams and it will be enabled as a general application for use in IOT Solutions. They are looking for feedback so that they are adjust the upcoming specification and implementation as needed in the forth coming months.
