XRP 3-day buy signal targets $1.50 with whale control at 68.5%

Breaking Signal·Market Impact: Medium
XRP 3-day buy signal targets $1.50 as whale holdings hit 68.5%

The TD Sequential indicator on the XRP 3-day chart fired a buy signal, according to crypto analyst and trader Ali Martinez. At the time of the analysis, the token was up 1.66% in 24 hours and 1.40% over the past week. Despite this short-term movement, XRP has not achieved a decisive breakout from the price correction that began earlier this month, which started from the $1.50 level.

Historical Signal Performance

Martinez noted that the buy signal on the 3-day chart could precede a strong impulse move. Historical data for the indicator shows that the previous three similar signals were followed by rebounds of 31%, 24%, and 18%, respectively. The current signal is part of a broader technical setup that analysts are monitoring for potential volatility expansion.

Whale Accumulation and Market Structure

Crypto intelligence platform Santiment reported that wallets holding at least 10 million XRP currently control 46.78 billion tokens. This cohort accounts for 68.5% of the total XRP supply. According to Santiment, large holders now control the most XRP they have since November 2022. The data indicates that these large holders have continued to accumulate tokens despite price difficulties throughout 2026, even as smaller holders sold under pressure due to steady declines in the recent month.

Santiment identified $1.30 as the immediate pivot level for swing traders and investors. The report stated that reclaiming the $1.50 level would strengthen the case for a bullish recovery. The $1.30 demand zone originated from mid-September and remains a key structural level for the asset.

Futures Deleveraging on Binance

XRP Open Interest on Binance fell to $445 million, dropping below its 180-day moving average of $463 million. Crypto analyst Darkfost attributed this decline partially to a market-wide slump that forced a price decline from $1.50 in October. Darkfost explained that falling prices depressed Open Interest by decreasing the value of existing positions. Additionally, sell-offs triggered by liquidations forced the futures market into a more defensive stance.

Darkfost suggested that this deleveraging could be a positive sign, indicating that futures pressure on XRP may be easing. If the asset stabilizes and defends the $1.30 demand zone, the chances of a short-term recovery could increase. The reduction in open interest reflects a reset in the derivatives market following the recent volatility.
