The exchange stated that tokenized U.S. stock spot trading volume rose 81% during the period, while Pre-IPO Futures trading volume increased 60%.
AI Sector Expansion
AI-related assets accounted for 48% of tokenized U.S. stock and ETF spot trading volume in September, up from 44% in August. This growth outpaced the 63% month-over-month increase recorded by non-AI assets. Trading activity extended beyond chip manufacturers to include optical communications, power equipment, and data center infrastructure.
All four monitored AI infrastructure sectors recorded growth exceeding 90%. Trading volume in semiconductors and memory rose 100%, followed by optical communications and networking at 99%, power and energy equipment at 96%, and computing infrastructure and data centers at 91%. AI-related companies occupied six of the top 10 spots by trading volume among tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs, representing 59% of the combined volume for that ranking. Crypto-related companies held the remaining four spots, contributing 41% of the total.
Assets associated with AI cloud services, chip design, computing infrastructure, and data centers together accounted for 38% of the top 10’s combined trading volume. MEXC CEO Vugar Usi stated that the data indicates demand for AI-related trading is expanding beyond chips into the broader value chain. He noted that the platform will continue to improve products and trading experiences to reflect these emerging market trends.
Futures and Pre-IPO Growth
Semiconductor and memory-related assets dominated MEXC’s Stock and Index Futures trading, occupying five of the top 10 spots by volume and contributing 77% of the ranking’s combined total.
