Aave Grants DAO has given 29 grants worth $943k over 4 months. Projects funded protect Aave users from costly liquidations, enable zero collateral loans, productively deploy Aave treasury, enable student governance, bring privacy to DeFi, support hackathons, among others.
Aave Grants DAO Summit is talking place during ETHOnline, a month-long virtual hackathon with over 1,000 engineers, designers, and creators building new protocols, learning at summits and workshops, and gaining valuable feedback from ecosystem professionals along the way. Discussions and updates on the Aave Grants ecosystem, builders and related topics are happening during the Summit.
Several developments have been happening in the Aave ecosystem. Avalanche has launched $180 million DeFi incentive scheme with Aave and Curve. An ARC has been created to extend AAVE Liquidity Mining Rewards. An AIP has been created to list $DPI (DeFi Pulse Index) on the Aave market. The promise of DeFi is to give back autonomy to individuals over their own financial well-being.
Emin Gun Sirer expressed: Yesterday, the Avalanche Foundation announced the biggest #DeFi incentive program to date. This will catalyze the next phase of hyper-growth that I’ve been personally looking forward to since launching Avalanche mainnet last year.
ll facets of the DeFi ecosystem need to co-exist and collaborate to create a functioning and widely adopted digital financial system: automated market makers (AMMs), DEXs, borrowing and lending protocols, insurance protocols, and the list goes on.
It’s crucial to have all DeFi primitives working and communicating with each other flawlessly. DeFi users also need a seamless experience to participate in the ecosystem.
The Avalanche Bridge (AB) has dramatically simplified the experience for users who want to move assets from other DeFi ecosystems to Avalanche. A few weeks in and AB has transferred over $100M in crypto assets.
Otherwise, a proposal has been created to test a cross-chain governance workflow in which Aave governance controls and updates a mock Aave market deployed on Polygon.
In addition to the cross-chain bridge, they have open sourced three repositories to further decentralize Aave and empower the community to build.
First, about the Aave UI main front-end repository. Open sourcing the front end makes it possible to allow for additional inroads to the already-decentralized Aave Protocol to permit anyone to contribute and improve the current Aave UI.
Second, the UI caching server facilitates the convenience server to optimize interactions with Ethereum nodes’ providers.
Finally, the Aave UI kit. Visual components used across the Aave UI. Aave are focusing on building a robust, community-driven ecosystem paramount to the ethos of decentralization at the core of DeFi software development.
Community response: Cross-chain bridge is capable of connecting any Ethereum-compatible networks (such as Ethereum Classic, Ubiq, Expanse, POA Network, Rootstock and others) to each other.
The Aave ecosystem has something brewing for active participants in network all the time.
