Instagram will soon be supporting NFTs on Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and Flow.  Further, the users of Instagram will not be charged for show casing their NFTs on the platform.  This is set to be a pilot program for NFTs on Instagram. Further Instagram is also set to support cryptocurrency wallets like Metamask.

Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, and Flow are the networks which host majority of the digital collectibles. Whether NFTs from all the four networks will be supported at the time of launch is unclear.  The pilot is set to feature a small group of NFT lovers.

Since Instagram will be supporting Metamask the most widely used cryptocurrency wallet, plugging these wallets will make it possible for users to prove NFT ownership.  Thus, users can show case the NFTs in their profiles and tag the creators who have created them. Will minting and group membership be enabled on Facebook? And more of details are yet to be discovered.
