Information We Collect

The Extension collects minimal data necessary for its functionality:

• User Preferences — Language selection (English/French), theme preference, notification settings, and check interval. These are stored locally in Chrome’s sync storage and are never transmitted to external servers.
• Read Article Tracking — The URLs of articles you have clicked are stored locally to display unread indicators. This data stays on your device.
• Anonymous Usage Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 (Measurement ID: G-J1BT7M3H96) to collect anonymized, aggregated usage data such as extension opens, article clicks, and notification interactions. This data does not include personally identifiable information.
• UTM Parameters — When you click an article link, UTM tracking parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign) are appended to the URL to help us understand traffic from the extension in our website analytics.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect your name, email address, or any personal identification.
• We do not access your browsing history beyond our own websites.
• We do not read, store, or transmit any of your personal data.
• We do not sell, share, or trade any data with third parties.
• We do not use cookies or cross-site tracking.

How We Use Information

• To display news articles from our RSS feeds in your chosen language.

Data Storage

Your Control

You have full control over the Extension’s behavior:

• Adjust the news check interval (1, 5, 15, or 30 minutes).
• Uninstall the Extension at any time, which removes all locally stored data.

Children’s Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 years of age.
