Charles Hoskinson expressed that cryptocurrencies will gain momentum in Afghanistan as people are desperate for privacy.

Whether in the war for and against the Taliban forces, cryptocurrencies are going to play a significant role, he opined.

Twenty years of America’s presence in Afghanistan is now over.  The country now has an uncertain future. Many who wanted to leave Afghanistan were not able to leave the country.

The Taliban overthrowing the Afghanistan government will lead to continued civil war and conflict. As a result, a strong interest in cryptocurrency usage is soon expected.

Charles stated, “It’s going to be really interesting to see how that gets integrated into statecraft and how that gets integrated into resistance against a regime that clearly doesn’t care for the rights of many people and clearly wants to put in a theocracy that belongs more in the 13th century than the 21st century.”

However, we are left wondering on how in a situation filled with so much of chaos, it will be possible for Afghanistan to stack crypto. Reportedly data are showing that BTC adoption improved in Afghanistan during the recent cash shortage.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Wednesday stated that it was not yet clear on what kind of relationship, if any, the Pentagon might have with the Taliban in Afghanistan. Reportedly, it is hard for them to predict where this will go in the future with respect to the Taliban. For example, will they consider the Taliban as a legitimate government?

The Taliban are now celebrating the official end of the war, and they are all set to establish their new Islamic government.

The world is witnessing a humanitarian catastrophe.  Antonio Guterres, UN chief, warned, stating almost half of the Afghan population needs urgent aid to survive after the Taliban takeover.

There are grave concerns about the deepening humanitarian and economic crisis in the country.

The UN Chief stated, “Now more than ever, Afghan children, women, and men need the support and solidarity of the international community” Further added, “I urge all member states to dig deep for the people of Afghanistan in their darkest hour of need. I urge them to provide timely, flexible, and comprehensive funding.”

In the days to come, we will be witnessing flexible and comprehensive funding coming from the cryptocurrency space, perhaps.  Too early to say, but the reality is not too far away.  Hunger needs to be attended ASAP!
