BitBoy Crypto Misses Court Appearance for Alleged Harassment in Crypto Influencer Lawsuit

Bitboy Crypto

The crypto world is buzzing with news of two major developments that have the potential to impact the industry in significant ways. One involves a court appearance missed by crypto influencer Ben Armstrong, aka BitBoy Crypto, over allegations of harassment towards counsel in a lawsuit. The other involves phishing websites posing as the popular Imtoken wallet, which is causing concern for unsuspecting users.

On April 20, Armstrong was due to appear in court in response to allegations of harassment towards plaintiffs’ counsel in a lawsuit involving several crypto influencers. However, he failed to appear, instead opting to post pictures of himself on a beach in the Bahamas on social media. This behavior has not been received well, with many in the crypto community calling for Armstrong to take the allegations seriously and cooperate with the legal process.

The lawsuit in question involves allegations of market manipulation by several crypto influencers, including Armstrong. The plaintiffs claim that the influencers promoted a cryptocurrency project called Hex, causing the price to soar before they dumped their own holdings, resulting in a significant drop in value. The lawsuit seeks damages for investors who lost money as a result of the alleged market manipulation.

In response to Armstrong’s failure to appear in court, the judge has issued a warning that he could face sanctions, including fines or even imprisonment, if he continues to disregard court orders. The incident has highlighted the need for influencers in the crypto industry to behave responsibly and ethically, as their actions can have far-reaching consequences.

In a separate development, the crypto community has been warned about phishing websites posing as the popular Imtoken wallet. According to Chinese reporter Collin Wu, the top ad for Imtoken on Chinese Google search is actually a phishing website that uses Google Docs to commit fraud. Wu has warned that fake wallets are flooding search engines and forming an industrial chain, posing a significant threat to unsuspecting users.

Phishing websites are designed to trick users into revealing their login credentials, allowing the attackers to gain access to their crypto wallets and steal their funds. Users are urged to be extra careful when accessing and using crypto wallets, and to take steps to protect their accounts, such as using two-factor authentication and keeping their login credentials secure.

These two developments highlight the need for vigilance and responsible behavior in the crypto industry. While the industry has seen tremendous growth and innovation in recent years, it is still in its early stages and faces many challenges, including regulatory scrutiny and the threat of fraud and scams. As such, it is important for all participants in the industry to act responsibly and ethically, and to work together to promote the growth and development of the industry in a sustainable and transparent way.
