Flow is a new blockchain built for the next generation of apps, games, and the digital assets that power them. So many amazing developers are busy building on Flow right now.

Google Cloud is the official cloud provider of Flow.  Google Cloud’s power as part of the Flow network will supercharge connectivity to consumers and app developers worldwide.

Community response:  How is this good news?  I fail to see it. Can someone educate me? In a crypto world that we want to build we want to be as decentralized as possible; tying with AWS, GC or azure is not making the infra more decentralized but less. Where am I wrong here?

Clarification:  That is the advantage of Flow’s multi node architecture. It can leverage datacenter computing power (e.g. Execution Nodes) without sacrificing decentralization (Verification Nodes).

The first of its kind Flow FLIP Fest is happening here.  It is a buildathon for developers to collaborate on an open source blockchain project. The FLIP is a Flow Improvement Proposal, which is a community-driven initiative to discuss and execute impactful improvements on Flow.

The Flow FLIP Fest is a two-month event.  The event is set to engage and reward participants for bringing about innovative and effective improvements to Flow.

The goal of FLIP Fest is to empower developers to build solutions on Flow which will have a lasting impact on the developer community and broader consumer audience by extension.

There are several areas to contribute, which includes: Non-custodial wallets, SDKs, learning tools, and several critical areas where participants will be proposing their solutions to particular requirements or use cases.  This also includes feature requests from businesses which are already developing on Flow.

FLIP Fest registration began on Sept. 15, 2021, and it will continue until Oct. 15, 2021 with FLIP Fest ending on October 30, 2021.

FLIP Fest will be focused on the following themes: Wallets, SDKs, Local Development Tools, Non-Custodial Wallet Providers, and Learning Tools.

HackerEarth will host FLIP Fest. Those who want to register can move ahead and learn more about what participants can expect. There is no cost to register to participate.  Those who are ready to sign can take on the next challenge, there is no barrier for entry.
