Skynet from SiaCoin (SC) The Netscape of Crypto is Just around the Corner

David Vorick of Siacoin SC stated, In the middle of the dumpster fire that is this week’s news, we solved perhaps the most important question for Skynet: How can you verify from the browser that portals are honestly responding to your requests? The Netscape of crypto is just around the corner.

Further he pointed to Jerry Brito statements about the Infrastructure bill.

The bad news is that the amendment did not receive unanimous consent, so it will not make it into the bill. The good news is we’re not giving up. Next stop is the House where we can try to get a whole new amendment from scratch that can address all our concerns.

For example, if all that’s needed is to make sure that centralized exchanges are brokers for tax reporting purposes, there shouldn’t be a need for any new expanded definition of broker at all. Just add “digital assets” to what’s already covered in the code—nothing else.

We’ll also get a chance to address other concerns with the bill. For example, the reporting requirements that would apply to mere transfers of digital assets from brokers to non-brokers raise serious privacy and civil liberties concerns.

I don’t understand why it had to be unanimous. Can someone ELI5? Because the Senate came to agreement a few days ago that no further amendments would be considered for this bill. To break that agreement and consider a new amendment, they needed unanimous consent.

David Vorick also pointed to Jake Chervinsky statement:

Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL) has objected to the compromise amendment. He didn’t get his own amendment for $50b in defense spending, so he’s against all others. Unless he changes his mind, that’s it. The compromise amendment is dead. FYI, he’s retiring at the end of this term.

People were like 87 years old – yet still has a say in the future of the country, especially about technology that he knows nothing about. Interesting system.  It’s almost as if giving some people power over other people is always a bad idea. 80 year old kids playing with the future.

Wow. That’s all I can say. Watching that was disturbing. He only objected because he wanted his amendment added.  No that was just his excuse. He’s in the pockets of the big banks who want to destroy crypto. It was all planned.

He might be retiring, but he will be offering his support to his replacement.

To Senator Shelby people were like:  1) your term is up soon 2) there are 100k+, conservatively, Americans who are against your decision to object and likely some of those put you in office; and 3) you should not be on your phone.
