Avalanche (AVAX) Consumes Energy Equivalent to What 46 U.S. Households Do Annually

Emin Gun Sirer Shared: New research from the Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute found that #Avalanche consumes the same amount of energy as just 46 U.S. households annually, compared to millions for proof-of-work chains.

Avalanche is pioneering the next generation of consensus protocols, and in the process unwinding the many myths about high performance coming at the expense of eco-friendliness or security.

This research makes it clear that every person who chooses to deploy an asset or application on avalanche avax can simultaneously build an open and fair economic system and participate in a solution to the climate crisis.

Beyond the current pandemic, I cannot think of two greater challenges facing humanity today. Challenges that require long-term action.

The future of Web3 depends on the decisions we make today, to embrace eco-friendly technology without sacrificing performance. Avalanche is the right place to build, where value can be created and shared freely without the devastating impact on the environment.

Congratulations on this recognition for Avalanche. In the beginning, when blockchain started, creators did not take the environment into account. It is great to have an economic project that also thinks about the planet.

I think this is a big step, many people criticize cryptocurrencies for their environmental impact. The truth is that there have been projects like Avalanche that are eco-friendly for a long time.

I figured 65,000 dollars in energy costs per year to run Avalanche based on an average US energy bill of $0.1331 per kWh.

AVAX cares about the world and is super eco-friendly, with this I hope in the future will be more green projects when PoW is obsolete.

The greener the better and this one is for sure amazing news for blockchain and crypto.  Honestly, red coin good coin.  This is one of the many reasons I decided to invest in AVAX.

Ecology now has a safe place in AVAX, subnets will make plants grow!

I’d rather have my faith dedicated to a bunch of Stakers than a bunch of Chinese miners polluting the planet.  Also Russian, EU, US, etc Mining gear is way more difficult to fake, much more difficult than nodes.

Proof of work will cease to be sustainable in a few years, that’s why Emin’s initiative to promote proof of stake with AVALANCHE is a good thing. This man is the genius of Defi.

I believe that the real damage is the people who follow those harmful protocols, but there will always be those who care a little more about our future, and that is why the PoS gave birth and AVAX cares about the future.
