Charles Hoskinson:  There are lot of great investments we are going to be able to make in Africa, infrastructure side as well as crypto side. We are going to kind of harmonize things, but as you know it is a lifelong pursuit, you know 3 years to 7 years to do a project. You get parallelism, but you can’t shrink those time horizons. Because there is education, there is modernization, and there is infrastructural development, there are regressions and setbacks, and sometimes deals can survive like.

Like for example, the Ministry of Education dealing with Ethiopia despite the Civil War, it is still ongoing, progress is still being made.  Hopefully, regardless of how things turn out, we think that is a durable program. You have steps forward and steps back, but the direction of the arrow is always the same.  It is much the same with the design of Cardano.

You know, we live in such a dopamine addicted attention starved world, where instant gratification is the currency. And, people are losing their ability to do deep work. And, people are losing their ability to look at long horizons and understand concepts like exponential growth. And, understand architectural advantages or design advantages in the long term.

The single most valuable thing a cryptocurrency can do, and Bitcoin did this and why it is so valuable is constructing a root of trust.  Some foundation where the security of that foundation is unimpeachable.

There is not a single person in the cryptocurrency space that believes that when you put something in the Bitcoin block chain, and you wait a little while like an hour or two that somewhere along the road, month from now or year from now, someone is going to be able to reverse that chain and take that chain out.

We criticize the energy efficiency, we criticize the utility, the lack of programmability, and no one criticized the root of trust, and for a good reason, because they understand the mathematics behind reversibility. And, they understand the sheer magnitude of trust the system has over conventional systems.

And, I would argue what we have achieved with Cardano, there is a replication of that. The foundational layer Ouroborous, its security is un-impeachable. There is not going to be reverses or hidden flaws in the protocol.  We have accomplished what Proof of Work stand out to do with Bitcoin or Ouroborous. And, what is nice is we have created beautiful foundations with that.
