Community response: Can someone explain the point of building something on the blockchain if you don’t have blockchain knowledge? Because you need the service that the blockchain offers for your business, etc.
Interesting, but if I deploy a decentralized app using Tatum, will I still be entitled to get the 30% traffic fees royalties my app will generate on the Elrond blockchain?
The progress report for the week: Maiar DEX. Progress, updates, next steps. Most of the last week has been about testing, bug fixing, and improvements from many community members. These last steps are strenuous, but they bring us closer to a DEX that can really achieve widespread adoption and mass liquidity.
Testing has come in several waves. Liquidity flow testing, bug discovery, UX feedback. 1st wave came from great community admins, w/ lots of useful feedback & suggestions. 2nd wave came from our friends ry_inc. Pertinent feedback, bug discovery, and useful suggestions.
One of the biggest improvements we’ve been working on is multi-transaction signing for flows like the “add liquidity” and UX abstractions for wrapped EGLD to simplify interaction drastically.
These are serious improvements: high impact and high value for all users. The great part is we’re already halfway there with the specific implementation. New simplicity will be much appreciated.
So what’s next? Implementing the entire wave of useful feedback w/ the improved flows & the new structure will happen next week. Once done, we intend to do another round of testing w/ the community, Runtime Verification, and a special group of DeFi White Hat hackers.
What can you help with in the meantime? Simple threads on what DeFi is – simple threads on farming & how to do it – simple threads on the special economics of MEX and its utility for the ecosystem – raising awareness in smart ways about Elrond, Mex, and Elrond DeFi.
The Maiar DEX is the ultimate stress testing tool for the entire Elrond architecture. It’s one of those applications which requires many newly designed pieces to be refined and carefully put together. Once it’s live, it opens a new frontier for DeFi on Elrond and beyond.
Now, the focus will be on pushing hard to get through the last fixes and finalize the improvement wave. Multi-transaction signing and wrapped EGLD abstractions are big steps forward.
