Aya Miyagotchi Shared:  The Ethereum community can have a positive role in providing the right resources to policymakers and governments. Today’s Ethereum Foundation grants to CoinCenter EFF Fightfortheftr and to a Gitcoin advocacy matching round, further that goal.

In nearly a decade of crypto-life, I’ve seen governments make good and bad decisions. One mistake can easily create a lose-lose situation for them and for our community. I’m certain though that we can have an impact on improving education around the technologies we’re building.

Please join us to support the orgs that are working to make policy a win-win, and let us (or Gitcoin) know if you’re aware of other groups that are doing great advocacy work too.

For clarity, he Enterprise Ethereum Alliance  (or EEA), launched in February 2017, brings together various start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, technology vendors, academics, and Ethereum subject matter experts to work on Ethereum as an enterprise-grade technology.

Key take aways per Investopedia:  The Enterprise Ethereum Alliance (EEA) is a member-led industry organization whose objective is to drive the use of Ethereum blockchain technology as an open-standard to empower enterprises.

The EEA’s mission is to deliver an open, standards-based architecture and specification to accelerate the adoption of Enterprise Ethereum.

Coin Center: The leading US non-profit focused on the policy issues facing blockchain networks

Electronic Frontier Foundation: A non-profit leader in defending digital privacy, free speech, and innovation

Fight for the Future: A grassroots activism group that fights for a future where technology is a force for liberation not oppression.

For the educators, The Ethereum Foundation is providing grants that total to $500,000 USD to three of the organizations that have helped lead the way in educating policymakers and regulators.

The EEA provides its members a community and access to educational material along with various technical and media resources.

Community Response:  Don’t forget the investigations that come with those regulations. Personally, I can’t wait.

Funny, how your thread attracted so many scam shills. Ethereum Alliance have fallen into a den of inequity.

Fees are totally insane.  Ethereum is a nonsense. I hope this token will disappear in the future.

This is a great grant. The Return on Investment on educating policy makers is massive.

Trying to buy supporters, are we? You guys are guilty of buying SEC supporters from the start!

Class act. Saw a lot of groaning when this hit. This is the involvement we need more of. I won’t mention names, but people lost a lot. Why? Public largely uneducated. They don’t know what blockchain is, and what it will be.
