Monero (XMR) is a secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency which keeps your money confidential. It is grassroots and open source. Monero is basically dedicated to privacy and freedom. Monero focuses on Money that is private and a decentralized cryptocurrency that keeps your finances confidential and secure.

Monero is now excited about COMIT’s recent update on their (Monero) XMR<>BTC (Bitcoin) Atomic Swap tool. COMIT is an open protocol facilitating trustless cross-blockchain applications.

Reportedly per a Reddit post, developers ran into a problem when working on the PoC for the “swap protocol in the other direction,” i.e., the protocol would permit swap-CLI users to sell Monero, thus making use of the swap tool. To deal with it, developers built their own little Monero wallet in Rust for signing transactions.

With the current Monero version, developers could not integrate the swap protocol in “the other direction” (i.e., sell XMR as the swap-CLI), as it is not possible to create pre-signed transactions on the current-day Monero.

The community always wanted a swap tool that will allow users to buy and sell Monero. However, for the moment, users are having to stop at buying Monero for the CLI while selling for the ASB, the Automated Swap Backend.

The next hard fork will focus on enabling integration.  The Monero research group is aware of the problem. They are currently integrating the implementation of the libp2p rendezvous protocol into the swap tool.

This is expected to essentially permit the CLI to find ASBs without sharing connection details by the ASB provider. The ASB provider will be able to decide to permit registration with a rendezvous node, and thus any CLI will be able to find the ASB and trade with it.

The Onion Addresses are supported for registration. Developers are hoping to shoot out a new version, including rendezvous, in the upcoming weeks. Those who have more queries can file their questions in the COMIT-Monero room on Matrix. Those who have specific questions about running an ASB will be able to join the xmr-BTC-asb-support Matrix room.
