Paolo Ardoino expressed, presenting the Tether Truthooooor.
The statements in the Cartoon read thus: Woah a million-dollar bounty; they are getting sued for a trillion dollars; the regulators will shut it down bro any year or decade now; Tether is at 0.9999 its gonna go under; Tether will is systemic risk to the global economy this journalist said; evergrandeeeee; attestations are not good enough; tether printing backs bitcoin price; it is true I read it on coin desk.
When their CTO posts a red or green photo it is price manipulation, lent commercial paper to Antarctica, so dangerous; it is a criminal enterprise I read it on Twitter; Commercial Papers are not fair, they are not cash; China controls Tether; Muh but them legal cases, it is unfair Tether is off the hook again; China controls Tether; Bitfinnexed said so and that crypto whale account on Twitter.
Community Response: It is a nice cartoon. That said, it is a step below the best way to respond – publish a clean & comprehensive audit. Once that is out there, Hindenburg & the others will go away.
We are working on it, progressing well. We aim to be the first providing an audit.
I noticed there are no quotes making fun of the truther claim of tether not being fully backed. Has tether always been fully backed, dollar for dollar?
Is your dollar in the bank backed by dollars in a vault? No lmaoooo.
This isn’t a good look if you are under investigation by regulators.
Regulators don’t care about illegal activity. Their main goal is to slow down the inevitable progress of crypto.
Extremely childish response from a $70B company. Attacking the messenger with memes instead of addressing the issue just makes you look worse. In the meantime, i’m shorting USDT until you prove otherwise.
Again no offense, but do the audit, if you run a legitimate company sue these people for slander and defamation. Posting memes is just further creating fear uncertainty and doubt. There are a lot of investors waiting for a audit so they can pour liquidity in to these markets.
Nothing makes a company look more like shit in my opinion than threatening to sue everyone for slander. Whenever I’ve seen this wielded as a weapon there is usually an absolute numpty at the end of it.
I’m sure they are doing dirty business. I’d say good chance they’re currently under-backed. I’d say guaranteed they’re gonna have a run eventually that triggers a crash, although impossible to pinpoint when or how big a crash.
The Tether team needs to be monitored, the biggest scare is that they will run away with all the bitcoin and leave their customers holding worthless USDT. Tether is an insolvent Ponzi-scheme, get out now.
Do people these days know what a Ponzi Scheme is? Yes, if you keep printing without a real backup. Just a matter of ordering more printers.
