Polkadot have announced that due to recurring wallet scams, they are re-evaluating all contributions to the Polkadot Wallets Wiki page. Further, they have stated that any community contributions going forward will be vetted. As always, they have required that the community do their due diligence when choosing a wallet and to be mindful of scammers.
To all those who are developing with Polkadot’s ink programming language, Open Zeppelin are launching a survey to determine the requirements and interest for a version of the open-source Open Zeppelin Contracts for ink.
Regarding the Rocco, they have reported a couple of lessons learnt: Some chains, upon connection, failed to produce blocks. This means the para chain was not functional prior to registering. Please test your chain configuration locally before submitting a Rococo parachain proposal.
Further that an example of a failed connection was a collator not being purged, resulting in an incorrect parachain genesis state. Users were requested to incorporate these lessons into their parachain connection procedures.
There are regular Technical updates and lessons to be learnt in the Polkadot ecosystem, which gets updated on a regular basis.
For instance, one of the Technical update read: Minimum requirements to run a parachain on Rococo. Operate at least 2 validator nodes, and 1 collator node. Test your chain configuration locally before submitting a proposal.
In the Polkadot Decoded 2020 talk, Derek Yoo introduced Moon Beam Network, a project that serves as the easiest entry point for Ethereum projects to the Polkadot ecosystem.
For clarity, Moon Beam Network makes it easy for developers familiar with the Ethereum smart contract toolset to harness the network effects that are quickly gaining traction on the Polkadot network.
Gavid Wood stated, Moon Beam Network is the first chain to bring EVM platform compatibility to the Polkadot ecosystem.
Many others in the ecosystem have acknowledged that this is a valuable and sure project. Many of them eagerly waiting to see the Moonbeam project go live on Polkadot.
Also, those who were attending Ethereum Denver were requested to make sure to swing by the Polkadot booth to check out the Polkadot bounties for both “open hack” and “non-technical” challenges.
Also, the new referendum 15, is proposing to increase the number of validators to 599. It is currently failing, but is up for vote for few more days.
Polkadot 0.8.28 has been released. Upgrade priority is LOW. DOT is meant to be an indispensable protocol in Crypto and it is expected that everyone will come to DOT.
