For clarity, the session was recorded during Decipher 2021 in Miami, Florida.  It features, Gary Malouf, Head of Engineering, Algorand – Rotem Hemo, Director of Product Management, Algorand.

Gary Malouf opined that Stake Proofs is one of the most important features of Algorand. He pointed to how blockchains are great and how they bought people peer to peer trade that is decentralized, secure, low cost and always readily available.

However, blockchains are a walled garden and there is a small problem. All the abilities are constrained within a protocol. You cannot do anything outside of it.  It is pretty much impossible to easily or trustlessly interact with other chains.

For instance, if you want to trade ALGO with ETH, it is not easy. You have USDT for example both of Algorand and on Ethereum, and you want to move it from one chain to another that is absolutely difficult in a decentralized manner.

Composability is not a problem and if you want to build a DApp that utilizes more than one blockchain, just if you know how to do it you, please let know.  It really slows down on the adoption of like the traditional finance.

The issues are if you think about it banks will probably adopt the blockchain soon and they would have modelled adoptions. Now, they must be able to interact with each other. So, think for example, if you have an account in Bank of America and your friend has an account on Chase and you want to send her a hundred bucks and you want to send it through the bank and they are going to tell you, “I am sorry we cannot just do that.” And, we don’t like it.

So, when people do it they do it kind of centralized by out of chain interactions. To know more those who are interested should check the entire video available in You Tube.

Community Reaction:  So, in short, what do I need to do to prepare myself for this upgrade as an average Algorand user?

Most will do nothing. If you run a participation node, you’ll regenerate your participation keys.

Algorand that’s almost sound like a real-world cyberpunk innovation, I am sure platforms like

Flux Protocol will continue to grow and expand and provide user best smart contracts, precide predicts and best protection.
