For clarity, Dexalot is a A new DEX on Avalanche with a central limit order book. Unlike most DEXs that run on automated market makers, Dexalot has a feature long-awaited by the Avalanche community — an on-chain central limit order book.
Dexalot did ~$200k of volume on its first day, an unexpectedly strong start!
What makes Dexalot special is that it’s a DEX based on an on-chain order book. As such, **you can trade without slippage**. It’s an efficient way to trade.
It’s also a DEX, so it’s fully decentralized and non-custodial.
They are doing a phased launch, so it only supports a single pair right now, but their plan is to expand from here.
For reference, Pangolin/Trader Joe/Uniswap V2 are based on an AMM model, Uniswap V3 is a unique model with liquidity bands, and Dexalot is an on-chain CLOB.
Because Dexalot isn’t an AMM that ends up being constantly arbed to update the price, I don’t expect it to break volume records. But I believe it’ll be a cornerstone of the Avalanche ecosystem.
The CLOB model is particularly good for efficient price discovery. It is also great for entering limit orders, something that the pure AMMs (i.e. Uniswap V2) do not support.
Let’s show Dexalot some love. Check it out, let the team behind it know about any issues, and let’s see if we can spot any bugs. I’ll give out a special NFT to anyone who discovers a high severity bug (i.e. a bug that can lead to funds loss).

Community response: The fact that very nice projects like markr dexalot do not have their own native tokens. one of the factors that reduce the awareness of the platform. It’s a loss for avalanche not to use this strategy when there is a Uniswap example.

Confused by this statement, Dexalot.com provides utility first, it’s not an AMM, your value is through low slippage and capital efficient trades. Tokens were minted on AMMs to reward people to tie their assets in. Dexalot doesn’t need you to tie assets to the platform.
For Clarity, An automated market maker (AMM) is a system that provides liquidity to the exchange it operates in through automated trading.
