Tron (TRX), one of the most widely used blockchain networks in the crypto space, has reached a remarkable milestone. As of mid-May 2025, every category of TRX investors — from short-term traders to long-term holders — is now sitting on profits. This achievement marks a rare and bullish signal in the volatile world of digital assets. Combined with the recent filing of a new staked TRX exchange-traded fund (ETF), market watchers are wondering if the rally is just getting started or nearing its peak.

The gains reported by TRX holders have been consistent across all time frames. Data from blockchain analytics firm CryptoQuant shows that those who have held Tron for one week saw around 10% returns, while one-month holders gained approximately 6%. Investors who maintained their positions for three months earned 11%, while those who held for six months enjoyed gains of 52%. Most impressively, those who bought and held TRX for a full year are now up by 115%, a massive return that has flipped market sentiment strongly in favor of the bulls.

At the time of writing, TRX is trading near $0.2766 and inching closer to a crucial resistance zone between $0.2950 and $0.31. This level has previously seen significant selling pressure, but if TRX breaks through it, the road ahead may be relatively clear. Market analysts suggest that a breakout above $0.30 could push prices as high as $0.38 or beyond. However, the bullish narrative could shift quickly if the price fails to hold above support at $0.27. A failure at this level might lead to a pullback to $0.2450, with further downside risk to $0.2320 or even $0.2150.

Fueling this optimism is the recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the Canary Staked TRX ETF. Submitted by the CBOE BZX Exchange, the proposal aims to list an ETF that offers exposure to staked Tron tokens. If approved, the ETF would allow investors—both retail and institutional—to gain returns from TRX staking without having to directly manage wallets or navigate the technical complexities of staking platforms. This could significantly broaden Tron’s investor base by opening doors to traditional finance platforms.

Another key development supporting TRX’s momentum is Tether’s decision to mint an additional 1 billion USDT tokens on the Tron network. This followed a $500 million USDT derivatives transaction and the withdrawal of 8,000 BTC from Coinbase. Tether’s increased activity on Tron signals rising institutional demand for stablecoins, particularly those issued on fast, low-fee blockchains like Tron. As TRX is the primary issuance network for USDT, this development enhances its on-chain utility and transaction volumes, further boosting its investment appeal.

The combination of strong price action, increasing institutional involvement, and a potentially game-changing ETF filing suggests that Tron could be entering a new phase of growth. If TRX manages to hold key support levels and breaks above major resistance, it could attract even more attention from both crypto-native and traditional investors. With every investor cohort now in profit, confidence in the Tron ecosystem is at its highest in years. Whether this momentum can sustain through regulatory hurdles and market volatility remains to be seen, but for now, the outlook for TRX is undeniably optimistic.
