Dennis porter shared: Bitcoin legal tender bill is coming to Mexico in 2022.

Community Response:

A Senator from Nuevo León, Mexico declared she will make Bitcoin legal tender. It appears to be her top priory.

The bill might be presented, but it has a 0% chance to pass.

Not 0%, but certainly lower than 15%.

I’d say zero is a good bet ATM, but having an opinion with absolutely no knowledge of local politics brings engagement.

Bill can pass and be vetoed. However, AMLO feels about something shouldn’t (in the strict sense) influence if a bill gets passed by Congress. I agree it’s a very low probability, but I don’t think it’s zero. Nothing is 0% ever.

The President has direct control of his party and as stated before he said it’s not going to happen, so the biggest block in congress is not going to vote against him.  I’d love to drink the Hopium, but I’m a realist.

How is it “Hopium” to say “less than 15% chance”? Do you even know what a 15% chance looks like? All I’m saying is that absolutes like 0% and 100% don’t exist. Yes, low chance, but certainly not 0%. That would imply that randomness never plays a part.

If you want to be technical about numbers fine 1% there you go not 0%.

This will trigger a massive price moment to $100k.  10k before 100k. On the second thought, I doubt you ever see 100k. Cringed. Must be a slave talking in the Fiat world.

The clickbait level is getting ridiculous. It’s one senator at this point.

Still, believe in Bitcoiner maxis influencers? Anyone? Buy the dip? Ultimate hedge? 1 BTC = 1 BTC? Inevitable? Hope you guys didn’t lose your house. Bitcoin didn’t fix this!

Salinas was not so hopeful about it. The guy knows.

Mexico has a long way to go before adoption as legal tender. Won’t happen tomorrow. But one can always hope and good that a Senator is trying to push the envelope.

It will never happen.

Lol, Well, nothing’s impossible! Maybe in 2025 when fiat goes down the drain, and people reject CBDC’s choosing bitcoin instead!

If this is true, then the guy who said it is the biggest “make fun of politics” México has ever had, plus he’s known and busted for being associated with members of cartels. I don’t think it’s good to “promote” that senator, I’m pro-bitcoin but if he is relevant then we are doomed.

Any senator can propose a bill. Doesn’t mean it has even the slimmest chance of success. AMLO can’t get his head around renewable energy, good luck explaining the Blockchain to him.

This would be amazing news.

It would be – if it were true. Sadly, it’s one unloved senator calling for it, with exactly zero chance of his bill being passed. Dennis is just trolling clickbait. Again.

She needs to get some backing from Morena the ruling party or it won’t move ahead.  Have you been to Mexico (not riviera Maya)? C’mon man, If yes, you should know this won’t happen.

This won’t pass. The country is going the CBDC way as they have already announced.  No, it is not. She does not have that kind of support, I wish she did but she does not.

Bitcoin’s instability I don’t think it’s the best option for a fiat currency! Bitcoin legal tender bill coming to Deez Nuts in 2022.

It’s not going to happen and trust me I would love my home country to do it.
