Monero (XMR) Striving for Privacy While People do not Realize the Threat to Privacy

Monero XMR privacy

For those who need more reasons to love Monero (XMR) Vikrant Sharma, Founder of Cake Wallet broke down the importance of privacy, fungibility & the philosophy of XMR and stated that they are here to stay.

Fluffy Pony recently spoke about the right to transact privately in a digital age.  Those who have a clubhouse account will be able to hear Riccardo Spagni talk about the role of privacy coins like Monero in cryptocurrency and their implications with law around the world.

Balaji Srinivasan stated, for the same reason Signal is drawing users from WhatsApp, private money will outcompete surveillance money. In other words, there is a real economic cost to financial surveillance.

Explaining his premises, Balaji stated, other countries will exist, and will issue national digital currencies – cryptocurrency as a concept will always exist, even if any given asset fails – nations can’t stop all holding of foreign currencies or cryptocurrencies so, monetary competition is underway.

When it comes to privacy, some users felt that only a sub set of users prefer privacy; however, the vast majority of users do not care about privacy. In reality they care about UX and network effects.

Other critics of privacy have to state that it has been seen that an overwhelming majority of people choose magic to understanding.  The chains of centralized tech are less demanding than the relentless vigilance necessary to sustain freedom. Rationalized by believing they are shackled in benevolence, at worst, indifference. Neither is the case.

The tug of war between decentralized privacy and governments will never end.  Governments will crack down to crypto.

To those who think Bitcoin is private, Monero enthusiasts have to state that they have a long way to go.  XMR developers are consistently working to be probe resistant.

Since, Monero are developing a good security model, they acknowledge the threat model and encompass the entire tech ecosystem and they are doing all it takes to be not limited to only the app or the operating system or the device hardware or the communication means or a remote server.  They are working towards ensuring privacy in a die-hard manner.

When reinstating about to what extent people understand the impact of privacy, it has been stated that letting the market decide what level of surveillance people will be okay with has never worked. Primary reason being, it’s too complex for people to notice, they don’t know what apps/companies are tracking them.  This just means people are still unaware of how big a threat loss of privacy is.  Those who oppose privacy technology are simply not sure of what is happening.
