Edward Snowden expressed: There is a strain of wealthy VC-guy who pretends to do you a favor by “warning” against Bitcoin (or whatever) while hyping centralized garbage-coins that they coincidentally happen to own an enormous stake in. If you ever make it, don’t be that guy. If you are that guy, change.
There is also a strain that thinks I recently discovered Bitcoin, simply because I criticize it at times. You know that whole NSA story from almost TEN YEARS AGO? I paid for the servers that made that possible using Bitcoin. I’m just not a maximalist.
Mixed Reactions from Community: Bitcoin, 14 years in, is a failed tech effort. Money is what money does and Bitcoin still doesn’t do money. Surely you are smart enough to see that.
It has only proven 12 years that it cannot be hacked and that I can send my money anywhere anytime.
The day a government comes with guns into my house demanding I pay a share of my income in Bitcoin, then, and only then, Bitcoin will have a solid demand, and hence an intrinsic value. The value of the USD is pretty much pay me or I’ll throw you in jail.
He’s intelligent enough to read the white papers and the code for himself and make up his own mind
All the VCs I know who are in bitcoin and other coins still believe bitcoin is solid. Anyone who isn’t an idiot in the space respects bitcoin for what it is.
Bitcoin is universally acknowledged as community property and sets the standard for a decentralized digital asset. Everything else in the crypto economy should be judged by the bitcoin standard when considering the question of whether the token is property or a security.
You’re shilling the trillion dollar gem the world’s richest man and governments already bought. You’re on the right side of the S shaped adoption curve.
Could you maybe give an example of garbage coins or a list, if possible?
Bitcoin has neither privacy, stable coins, on chain exchange, or a myriad of other things we need. Someone must build and promote those things which make the world better. I monetized time for instance. Oh, and it’s more secure than bitcoin as well.
We recognize you still don’t understand it because you are not yet a maximalist.
Glad that you seem to have invested more time and effort to understand what Bitcoin is, and what it means for freedom. Just a few months ago your understanding appeared to be quite flawed and superficial. Well done, on doing more homework.
