There was a recent rumor doing the rounds that there are more than 3 million CoinMarketCap Email addresses leaked to the Dark Web.

CZ Binance expressed: “There’s been a lot of FUD around CoinMarketCap. To the best of our knowledge, there are no leaks from CMC. There are partial matches on emails, no passwords. It is likely collected through mailing lists, etc. Still investigating.”

CZ also acknowledged the tweet from CoinMarketCap:  You may have seen some information online about CoinMarketCap emails — we want to assure our users that there has been no leak from our own servers. We urge everyone adopt good cybersecurity habits, and to have unique passwords on every site they use.

Community Response:  My wallet is empty after your accounts are hacked. How do you answer me?

Imagine being hit by a data leak but blaming the users for their password behavior.

Furthermore, my account *does* use a unique password not used elsewhere, so blaming your users is not realistic.

“There has been no leak from our own servers.” So where did the leak come from? If not your “own servers” where else were you storing data?

Are you sure the email leak is not from CoinMarketCap? And now your teaching user have a good security habits?

I too am getting this kind of mails. Straight up deleting them. You got an attachment with xhtml extension right?

I think there is a bug with your link that keep popping in my email app prompting me to send an email and it is frustrating.

I’m tired of these companies getting “breached”. It’s getting old and I get too many spams due the negligence.

knowing fully well that they are scam projects, and they are busy scamming innocent investors in all their Telegrams platforms, even providing a link for them to liquidate their wallets, you need to update your vetting process.

What you say is so important. people’s dreams and futures are going away.

With all due respect CZ, it’s been almost a week and I can’t access my Binance any longer I’ve complained up and down and nothing could be done a friend of mine who had issues verifying his account finally verified it and want to withdraw his money.

You will find it isn’t FUD, my inbox has starting receiving scam crypto emails lately, checked before this announcement to find out yeh there has been a data breach. Only when we start questioning them they actually let it be known to everyone else. CMC has dropped a bollock!
