Sia is one of the leading decentralized cloud storage platform, which helps in storing data in the cloud without losing privacy or control.  This is a project by Nebulous Labs.

Sia Tweeted:  “We just released Sia v1.4.4! This release includes multiple improvements to Sia and Skynet. Uploads will resume faster, Skynet supports uploading directories, and now has base infrastructure for encrypting Skylinks (fully in v1.4.5).”

Developers will be able to download Sia v1.4.4. They can thus get started with everything moving.  The uploading directories facilitates expanding on the capabilities of the platform. With the current update, the Skynet has not been more flexible.  There are several bugs and fixes available with Sia update.

One thing to understand about the difference between the Skynet and regular Sia is that the Skynet uploads are public to anyone who has got the link.

Also, Skynet is an upgrade to Sia.  With Skynet, it is possible to share files and host websites.  They are working on the encryption for Skynet and therefore it is possible for users to decide if they want to be public or private.

Siacoin (SC) Skynet App Store

Those who have an app built can now register it on Skynet.  It is not possible to explore the Skynet Apps in the Skynet App store.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted: “Siacoin (SC) now have their own Skynet App Store. Perhaps they do not need any other app store. Nice development indeed.  Establishing Superiority.”

Searching in the Skynet Apps search engine will return the available numbers of apps from which users can download.

This is indeed a wonderful infrastructure according to users.  They feel that Skynet is able to motivate and empower developers to build really cool and decentralized apps in several minutes. Users are happy about being able to host static websites on skynet in less than a minute.

There are 12+ SKapps on the Skynet Appstore with new functionality.  The functionalities are cool.  And they are working on a mobile friendly layout. This seems bullish and perfect making it a great platform.

One of the seasonal approaches by Play to Earn read thus:  “Quarantined? Already played Doom on PS4, your smartphone and printer? Why not play the famous shooter again, running completely on a decentralized network! @SiaTechHQ.” And Sia retweeted this.  It just indicates that Quarantined need not mean out of business, it is like working and gaming in a different way.
