Nano recently tweeted:  “To find all you need to know on setting up, configuring, running and maintaining a $NANO node.”

A node is the access point for the decentralized system. It is important for anyone who decides to run a node to understand why they should run a node, why maintain it, the types and to follow the recommendations provided for nodes.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted:  “Nano Nodes are best maintained with security patches, upgrade to latest node versions, and using best practice to secure passwords.”

There is no inbuilt incentive for running a Nano node. The incentives come from externally.  When compared to all other cryptocurrency networks Nano operates securely without transaction fees.  The indirect and external incentives come from advertising exposure, transaction fees savings in cases where businesses accept Nano in payment. There are dedicated representative nodes and nodes for running other application integrations. Representative node setup is important to generate consensus.  It is also important for the voting process.  Therefore, there is widespread importance given to Representative nodes.

Nano Node V21.1

It was recently stated that all Nano nodes which are running Athena v21 are now contributing to Nano Ticker, providing the most comprehensive and accurate real-time impression of the Nano network. This they state is another great reason to update the Nano Node.

Nano tweeted:  “Nano Node V21.1 has been deployed to the $NANO Network and is now available as a required update for all nodes.”
