Nervos Network (CKB) Working on the Release of toCKB an Asset Cross-Chain System in Q4

Nervos Network toCKB

The plans for Q4 for the Nervos Network was unveiled in the first Town Hall meet on September 15, 2020.

Jan Xie, chief architect and researcher at Nervos Network introduced the product roadmap for the rest of 2020.  He answered questions from the community with the help of co-founder Kevin Wang.

Nervous tweeted:  “Thanks to the POW’ER #DeFi Innovation Summit co-hosted by @Mars_Finance for inviting our co-founder Daniel Lv to speak about Interoperability 2.0 for more on our plans for Interoperability 2.0, see our recent Town Hall recap.”

The discussion was geared around DeFi, infrastructure, research and development, and interoperability. Nervos are well aware of how Defi is flourishing and therefore they have established it as a priority.

They are establishing strong token standards to support the upper application layers.  The Token standards are applicable for those tokens which were built on the Nervous a lot similar to ERC-20 and ERC-721 tokens.  In their roadmap, they have plans for stable coins and assets, Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs) and Oracles.

The User Defined Tokens – UDT standards on the CKB are equivalent to ERC tokens on Ethereum.  The UDT standards are SUDT (Simple User Defined Token), Anyone Can Pay, and NFT – Non-Fungible Tokens.  These standards are meant for user-created assets which are issued on CKB.  They are focusing on building bridges, which will permit the assets which are issued on CKB.

They are also focusing on making it possible to permit the assets, which are built on other blockchain to be securely transferred to CKB, while taking advantage of the unique features of Nervous.

They are planning to release the first version of toCKB in Q4. At present the toCKB project code is open source and is under development and iteration.  The to CKB is an asset cross-chain system, which has a series of protocols, CKB contracts, and off-chain modules. It is as well the cross-chain bridge between CKB and other block chains.

Nervos Network (CKB) Rollup and Generalized Payment Channels

Nervos Network are continuing with their developments and they are making regular updates to the Layer 2 CKB Infrastructure.  Updates are happening at the Hardware Wallet Support, Developer Tools, PolyJuice, Developer Experience, Light Client.  They are set to release a prototype of a light client in Q4 with a demo for mobile phones and computers.

They are focusing on 2 types of protocols namely the Rollup and Generalized payment channels.  They are working and progressing slowly in the right direction.  Probably, they are going jump up in the ladder like Polkadot.
