Andre Portilho, head of digital assets at BTG Pactual, remarked, “We don’t want to be tied to just one blockchain. Because clearly, I cannot tell which blockchain will prevail. We want to have other options, other blockchains that might serve better the pieces of tokenization and issuing tokens that represent real assets.”
The bank is focusing on trying to achieve the highest possible client base. They previously wanted to work with some other service provider; however, further, they decided they want to understand the ins and outs of digital tokens and therefore decided to do it by themselves.
