DigiByte Community Discussing on Paying for a Cup of Coffee with DGB Compares With BTC and LTC

Paying for a cup of coffee can unfold a lot of economics in the process when paying for the same product using different cryptocurrencies.

Hans Koning, Chair Digibyte Foundation tweeted:Guess a time consuming $BTC transaction automatically includes a tip as well. Just look at it plain and simple; $DGB is fast and cheap. Go #DigiByte!”

This he substantiated by comparing the transaction times and the transaction fee when ordering a cup of coffee. He posted an image depicting the cost of coffee as being $4 and showed 3 cups with one getting paid with Bitcoin, another with Litecoin and another with Digibyte. Further published the transaction fee of $3.50, $0.36, and $0.0001 for BTC, LTC and DGB respectively.  Further the transaction times being 10 minutes, 2.5 minutes, and `15 sec for BTC, LTC and DGB respectively.

When someone said, 15 seconds is still slow though. We may as well stick with the current system because even the fastest of the three is still slow. 15-second transaction speed is not going to cut it in today’s world. As busy as Starbucks is there’s no way they’d ever get to the end of a line.

In response, Hans Koning replied, “Actually, transactions are visible in your wallet in 1 second, and confirmed in 15s; please try.”

Someone who tried to kid further clarified stating Coffee cost – $4 Transaction time – 2.5min Transaction fee – $11.45 $ETH.

Further one of them stated that Tipping was not a European Custom, but on how DigiByte is perfect for the penny-pinching Mr. Pinks out there.

Someone ran to rescue trying to correct something by stating, Dear Hans, this is just not right. Does not reflect reality. Current median fees are $0.9-1.5 for BTC, $0.01 for LTC and $0.00000022 for DGB. So the picture you are tweeting is not factually correct. DigiByte Foundation should not engage in misinformation. Especially towards LTC.

Hans Koning Concluded stating, Thanks for pointing this out. Inaccurate information is not something I or the foundation supports; on the contrary. Actually, we build bridges with fellow blockchain projects, LTC included, and have no desire to bash colleagues, or being perceived as such.

Rudy Bouwman stated $DGB cryptocurrency is just one use case of the Digibyte Blockchain.  There are other use cases where Digibyte is being used like in proof of authenticity or secure authentication. And there is a lot more to come. He expressed that DigiByte is here to stay and will only grow.

Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert opined:  “Some of them have been discussing about having formed a community for creating excellent videos about DGB.  Waiting to see Epic DigiByte Videos Soon!”
