Golem are about shared computing power. Golem are introducing layer 2 payments through zkSync. Right from the beginning they have been trying to deal with the high transaction fees issue faced by most of the Ethereum-based decentralized applications.
Golem Not doing airdrops tweeted: “New Golem’s Alpha III: Golem’s one of the first projects to feature zksync Layer-2 payments (testnet), within our killer infrastructure for decentralized computing Hackathon starts December 8th, start getting familiarized with New Golem now!”
ZkSync is now enabled as the default payment driver and both their Python and JS high-level APIs are supporting its use. The layer 2 for now is limited to transfers. Withdrawals and top ups are set to come in the next release. This new payment solution is expected to work well.
In this regard, Sydney Ifergan tweeted: “Golem are getting known in the cryptocurrency space. They are making their voice heard with the month long hackathon.”
The first Golem Online Hackathon is starting. This hackathon is designed in a way to permit developers to build on the top of the platform to further compete for prizes. Gitcoin will administer the bounties for the hackathon.
There is also an introductory workshop which will provide with an overview of the New Golem.
Also, further technical information is provided in detail for the participants. Also, the hackathon submissions are aggregated to in the awesome-golem directory, social media, and Gitcoin’s social media. The submissions will also be featured in the website section.
