SDF General Counsel Candace Kelly joined the Blockchain by Women Panel on Ensuring Privacy and Security of Digital Assets and Blockchain Apps.
This event focuses on blockchain’s advanced security and privacy features. The applications built on them may or may not provide for the security and privacy features like the network on which they are built.
Experts discussed ensuring the protection of sensitive data, whether personal, company or government. Protection of sensitive data has become a bigger concern as Central Bank Digital Currency projects increase across the world. The event discussed the security and privacy issues and on how to address them.
They focused on a range of queries like the underlying issues and reasons for digital asset related fraud, methods to prevent these exploits from happening, the issues which are unique to the Defi space, and what can we do as consumers or end users to protect our sensitive data on wallets, applications and on how to further protect our access to funds.
The discussion also focused on how developers can secure the applications they’re building with respect to: Enterprise users, Smart contracts and security, on whether the audits are good enough especially as many of DeFi projects hacked had audits, Mobile apps and on how most transact crypto trading on mobile apps and on what can developers do to protect the apps that are released on mobile devices.
Further, they discussed on how end users and fintechs can secure trading of digital assets. They also discussed if there is a regulation that is targeting crypto/defi/digital assets in attempts to make it safer. And, also about the good intentions and potentially unintended consequences.
