Over 2 Billion Zilliqa staked has been staked.  They are closing in on their goal of their 1 Billion ZIL staked on Zillacracy.  The sooner they hit 1B they are looking to give away.

Zilliqa tweeted: “First official staking cycle started today and APY for staking is currently still over 40%. What are you waiting for?”

One of the users stated that 2 billion ZIL has been staked in less than 5 days. Staking contract to soon become the place with most ZIL liquidity. Users are wondering about how they can tap into this liquidity to make the most of it.

Some of the users are looking to create a lending platform for mortgages and rehabilitation work like something that people could actually use.

The gas to be paid to claim all the rewards for 1 day in the new fix is estimated to be 3 ZIL, which is 1.5 ZILs more than the gas required prior to the fix. Rewards for the following cycles should not be affected by this fix.

The fix involved rewarding delegators after every 300 blocks (i.e., ~6 times a day) instead of 1800 blocks (i.e., ~once a day), as outlined in ZIP-11. This means they will now have to claim their rewards more frequently to keep gas footprint low + earn cumulated returns.

Rest assured that ALL funds are safe including your gZIL. ALL REWARDS for the cycle have been disbursed. You can continue to stake and earn rewards as usual. The only change is that the rewards will now be distributed more frequently than before. Zilliqa states that they will keep users posted.
