DigiByte Awareness Being Created by Jared Tate Foundation and others in DGB Community

Digibyte

Jared Tate expressed:  I highly recommend mobile wallets on your phone only be used for daily purchases /lower amounts of value w/ Digibyte & Bitcoin. Mobile wallets are to easy to lose/ get stolen + insecure OS. Also mobile wallets are 1 of 2 types, “light” wallets or “service” based wallets.

Service based wallets” are reliant on a 3rd party service/ server full node and can be attacked or shut down causing issues to tons of users at once. But their upside is they don’t require syncing with the blockchain & can be used immediately.

“Light wallets” are partial independent nodes that sync directly with the Digibyte or Bitcoin blockchain but can take time to “sync” which is how they come up to date with the latest blockchain block. They are more secure w/o reliance on 3rd party service.

Digibyte Foundation also stated:  Always make sure you use the right type of wallet to store your DigiByte. Mobile only for small pocket amounts, hardware and full nodes for larger amounts.  A study of the great overview of all DigiByte supporting wallets helps.

Community response:  There is no logic when Dogecoin, TRON, VeChain, XRP, Cardano, even Amp, and Stellar, with so many disadvantages, compared to Digibyte, and with a lot greater circulation supply, not even able to reach 50% of Digibytes technology, with huge portions.

Talking about Coinomi, since you would always have access to your funds through your recovery phrase/private keys no matter what was to happen to the wallet provider you would still be able to restore your funds on a full node.

There was a recent survey that read like:  How would you feel about the DigiByte Awareness Team hosting quarterly livestreams? DGBAT I’d be interested in getting it started to open more communication with the community. This poll is solely to gauge interest, nothing official.

Responding to the query community members were like:  Is DGB still a thing? Is the sky still blue.  Maybe it could be a combination of both. The live stream can be recorded which is nice as well.

I’d be way more interested in seeing tutorial videos on how to get started developing on DigiByte, programming smart contracts, and integration features like Digi-ID into our platforms, etc.

I’m making a list of what is needed, such as your tutorial video idea (I love it), and what is being worked on. I plan to make a webinar out of it for the livestream. I can simply let the community know if anyone has these skills to make tutorial videos, we’d love to empower them.

It may not be perfect, since I am a volunteer like we all are, but it’s a start on greater community collaboration
