Polkadot have announced, starting today, hack on the Polkadot challenges in #BlockHackGlobal2020, hosted by @BitcoinBay! This is a 6-week virtual hackathon with hundreds of hackers to turn ideas into reality and win up to $50K USD in seed funding.

The latest Polkadot Digest is out.  The news has published that due to latest validator election, some low-balance nominators were removed. They also stated check your nominations and re-nominate if necessary. Stake per nominator is now once again going to fewer validators instead of being split widely.

Council-proposed Referendum 7 is now up for voting. This will increase the size of the optimum active validator set by 1 every era (day) for 100 days.

You can interact with a Substrate-based node (including Polkadot or Kusama) with Python using Polkascan’s Python interface.

In response one of the commentators queried, where is the information on this? I can’t find it in governance. My staking rewards went to zero on the 24th of September after being set to from active nomination to inactive nomination – is this related?

Further expressed, my nomination was set to inactive on the 24th September – is this related? No rewards for 6 days in an undersubscribed pool.

Those who are serious about making an impact in the governance should be keen about checking in to what is happening with their nominations.

Sydney Ifergan, The crypto expert, “Polkadot (DOT) is surprising, it is out in the sky shining bright all of a sudden in the rank ladder.  We need to see if it will be a fading comet or the brightest star.”

Reportedly, there is a Council motion to gradually increase the number of validators in the active set, one per era (day), for the next 100 days. This would also require stakeholders to vote on it to pass

Polkadot (DOT) Simplification Required

Of note, The Polkadot Ledger application is compatible with both the Ledger Nano S and the Ledger Nano X devices.

There is a Walk through available for how to set up the Polkadot app on the Ledger device and on how to connect it to the Polkadot-JS app.

One of them expressed, It’s been tough for me to navigate myself in Polkadot environment. Even basic operations seem geekily complicated. Haven’t even been unsuccessful to send dot to my other wallet.

Several users feel that a simplification of Polkadot is required.

Of note, The next Substrate developer community conference is coming October 15th.
