Dr. Heath P. Tarbert, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Chairman and Chief Executive expressed, “Let me just basically say how impressed I am by Ethereum, full stop, period.”
He further expressed what he thinks about Ethereum as a regulator by explaining an analogy to email versus internet. He compared Bitcoin to the Email, obviously revolutionary. He stated Ethereum is far beyond that and compares it to the Internet.
However, onlookers in response felt that he should have done his homework. And cryptocurrency supporters for other tokens felt tried to support the tokens they personally like. Some of them expressed their feelings stating that they are keeping their bags ready to purchase more of ETH.
Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted: “Ethereum (ETH) has some decently big work to be sorted by their developers. Scalability is something that any blockchain has not sorted to date.”
Some had to state that Elrond has everything that ETH 2.0 are trying to do. Some of them felt that this is a cameo sponsored video. Some of them went way too negative about Ethereum.
No matter who says what about Ethereum, they have some real good use cases like decentralized trading.
Lot of questions in the Ethereum Community asked why minimum 32 ETH for staking? How long will ETH be locked up if we participate in staking. Staking rewards incentive? With sharping how many TPS? How will eth 1.0 roll over? Will miners become obsolete? When will we know the max number of ETH? Interoperable
Some of them went cranky to the extent of asking will Vitalik support and help create a crypto UBI protocol that sends people in need ETH every month?
Recent thoughts of Vitalik on the recent ZK rollups advancements related to smart contract capabilities: Aztec with Noir and zkSync with Zinc, have trigged thoughts on whether it could happen that optimistic rollups become obsolete sooner than we all thought?
Lots of people have taken his recent rollup centric eth2 post to declare computation on ETH2 “dead”. Irrespective of scaling. Does he view in-protocol trustless computation as crucial or optional? Is data availability enough for him?
When Vitalik recently spoke about the gas prices getting back to the troposphere and as that being the time when great things happen, he stated that we need to hope to get rollups out soon and probably >10x cheaper.
However, one of the commentators stated that ETH reminds of old expensive and slow PC called Gateway and on how it did not last long bankrupt.
