๐Ÿ“Œ Historical Archive Notice

This article covers TCAT during its 2018-2020 active period. TCAT is no longer in active circulation on any exchange. The Currency Analytics editorial content remains independent of TCAT. Article kept for historical reference. Not financial advice.

I am Sydney Ifergan, Founder at The Currency Analytics, and I would like to remove Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt that a few comments expressed on our news on February 08, 2020.

I request readers to triple check information, which sounds too attractive.  You might want to go to the official website for similar information before you act on cryptocurrency offers outside the main website.

This is a cryptocurrency-based crime by imposters, and, sadly, tons of followers and even communities are falling.  No wonder, we at TCAT who deal with cryptocurrency news every day got misled somehow.

We want to be 100% reliable for our readers. We respect the concerns of the groups who complained.

As a news team, we are moving ahead. We have learned a lesson that scammers are smart, and we at TCA are evolving to be more stylish. In the future, we resolve to be more focused and careful about what we publish.

YouTube Failed by Cryptocurrency Imposters

I do believe that Giants like YouTube and other Social Media have all the power to filter imposters.  They need to have a strong system in place.  The Social Media Platforms should realize their โ€œCorporate Social Responsibilityโ€ in weeding off these scammers.

In reality, a few weeks ago, YouTube removed several cryptocurrency videos, but they got them back over again. Probably even YouTube and Giants have trouble differentiating scammers from conventional ones.

Like us members at TCA, several cryptocurrency community members believe that things on YouTube are real.  And, particularly so, when it shows Live Streaming.

Our writers relied on YouTube sources to publish the details of a “2000 BTC Exodus bonus” and “Binance AirDrop for 10,000 BTC,” hoping investors would want to capitalize on it.

It was a confusing day for The Currency Analytics members (TCAT token) on February 08, 2020, over two news write-ups that we published.

Twitter Warnings on Scammers

This is not the first time:

On February 12, 2018, Binance tweeted:  โ€œAlert! Scammers are impersonating official Binance accounts and tweeting to ask for deposits to specific addresses in return for gifts. You will lose your tokens if you do this! Binance will never ask you to send coins directly to any address for any reason.โ€

On November 08, 2019: Ripple tweeted:  โ€œWeโ€™ve noticed an uptick in fraudulent communications claiming to be @Ripple or members of the Ripple leadership team offering giveaways, particularly around #SwellbyRipple. Be on alert – these are fraudulent and are not official accounts.โ€ Further adding, โ€œScam alert! Take care guys; there are some fake Ripple Youtube channels who pretend a live streaming video from the Swell and publish in the description the same scam with a giveaway if you send XRP you will receive more back. #SCAM #XRPโ€

TCA Focuses on Avoiding Fake News

At The Currency Analytics, we genuinely focus on avoiding fake news. However, imposters misled our writers with their YouTube Videos, which looked very official as it was Live Stream at the time of writing.

Terribly so, the YouTube live streaming about Binance AirDrop and Exodus Wallet appeared as good a real!

Binance scam Airdrop

Our writers were excited as they caught the news early on the live stream, and they hoped to get some decent readership over the hot news!

One of the news was concerning โ€œBinance,” and the other was concerning โ€œExodus Wallet Blog Predicts 1 Bitcoin will surpass $100,000 by Paradigm Shift.โ€

TCAT Horrified by Two Imposters

To our horror, both of them were imposters! We knew this, only when we got comments and e-mails from the real official team at Exodus.

Since we knew our sources, we felt ambiguous and edited the news with a warning.

“We Are currently re-editing this news, It seems that the YouTube channel wasnโ€™t officialโ€ please come back later.

Dear readers:

We published the below content today. However, we got a warning stating, “Hi Sydney, no, that is not an official channel of ours. Unfortunately, hackers are hijacking other channels and impersonating us to scam our users. We are working hard to take them down. Please never share your seed phrase with anyone, even if they claim to be from Exodus. -UO”

We want to warn users about the video. Beware, Guys. Apologies โ€“ The Currency Analytics Teamโ€

TCAT News on Binance was also affected by Imposters

Further, things got worse at the TCA workday, when we got comments about the Binance AirDrop being from imposters as well.

It was not a nice feeling for us at TCAT, as our primary focus is to deliver โ€œTrue News.โ€ We genuinely focus on avoiding fake news.

Binance is huge. Exodus is Evolving.  It seems like imposters do not have any fear at all.  They kind of play tricks on the innocent community of all tokens.  They are not worried about giant players or startups; they prey them all.
