The goal of the project is to develop an Asia-focused metaverse platform where A-list celebrities, such as K-pop singers, can construct virtual planets, digital collectibles, and utility-focused NFT.

Fans will be able to communicate meaningfully with their favorite celebrities through the Gemie Metaverse, which will open up new commercial potential for artists and IPs.

Creating Working Capital and Securing Key Partnerships

Shima Capital, Infinity Ventures Crypto, and NGC Ventures are leading the investment round.

(GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — LONDON, Feb. 28, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Gemie is thrilled to announce the completion of the newest $3.8 million investment round headed by Shima Capital, Infinity Ventures Crypto, and NGC Ventures. The financing will help the Gemie Marketplace and the entertainment-themed Metaverse to grow faster. Newman Capital, Soul Capital, Kenetic, Sparks Digital Capital, ICO Pantera, SL2, Oddiyana Ventures, Beyond NEXT, QUDAX LLC, and AVStar Capital also participated in the round.

Gemie’s Co-Founder Discusses the Company’s Metaverse Goals

Gemie’s mission is to use an immersive metaverse experience to connect top-tier Asian superstars with their followers without regard to geography. Fans will be able to interact with their favorite stars and IPs by travelling across virtual planets and receiving exclusive benefits from utility-focused NFTs. Fans can also show their support by shopping the Gemie Store for licensed digital memorabilia.

Several high-level artist management organizations and film production houses in the region have already partnered with the enterprise. With increased resources, the business will expand its negotiations with other entertainment sector companies. In early 2Q22, Gemie is scheduled to reveal the first onboarding celebrity.

According to John Fung:

Gemie’s co-founder, John Fung, stated, “In Asia, pop culture and the entertainment environment have their own unique dynamics that are extremely different from those in the West. When you consider how K-pop has influenced the world, it’s clear that it’s a formidable force. While western celebrities such as Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, and Travis Scott have been highly embraced in the metaverse, the East is still lagging behind. We believe that artists in Asia have a lot of potential to embrace this new virtual manner of fan connection, and we’re delighted that our investors share our vision of bringing Asia’s entertainment business into the Web3.”
