More to Algorand (ALGO) than Just What Meets the Eye

Algorand Python

Cosimo (AlgoRealm) and Matt (Algoworld) discussed the design and implementation for each of their NFT projects at the most recent office hour.  The session covered how to create NFTs for collecting, gaming, and royalty payments.

Matt, who hails from France, introduced himself as an Engineer in real life and stated that he is not a professional developer. He said that he discovered Algorand a few months ago.

In Matt’s own words:  “At first, it was just to invest. It was a great blockchain, and it was a great take and fast transactions and low fees. Quickly, I saw that there was a lot of documentation and help to develop it.  I saw there was an ability to develop on Algorand using Python, which is the language I know. I had an idea of Algorand and decided to build it.”

So, eventually, Matt has created “ALGOWORLD cards,” a card game with NFTs which can be stored in a wallet and also traded.  Those who are willing to know more will have to check the YouTube video and other details about the project.

Cosimo hails from Italy. In his own words:  “I am a Solution Architect for Algorand. This means that I help use cases to be translated in the Algorand Protocol. And, currently, I focus on the Europen Time Zone. As a part of the business development team in Algorand, I provide technical support for use cases to be successful in translating to the Algorand Protocol.”

He presented, AlgoRealm, a mini-game on Layer 1. This project has been constructed to show developers how to extend the ASI framework with teal to build their own NFT with Royalty embedded policies directly in Layer 1.

Reportedly, although the main purpose of AlgoRealm is not to manage royalties, its working principles can be generalized and adopted as boilerplate for the development of an interface for an NFT royalty ASA.

Those who are willing to know more will have to check the YouTube video and other details about the project.

These are just a couple of projects showcased to get users to get their feet wet in Algorand.  There is more to Algorand than just what meets the eye.

Everyone who is building on Algorand is happy about the platform.  Most of them felt that there is more marketing needed to let more developers know of its potential.  So, Office hour recordings seem to be a small attempt to get developers to talk about their projects so that the rest of the world can see what they have.
