Ultimately, Haipo Yang tweeted: “Bitcoin Cat will not follow Bitcoin Cash new hard fork and keep the origin chain on November 15th.”
Sydney Ifergan, the crypto expert tweeted: “Good there is no Cat or Pot Forks at Bitcoin Cash. Good for BCH users.”
However, before the current mind change the following events did brew in the community:
While some of the community members are enthusiastic about growing the economy with Bitcoin Cash Haipo Yang, Founder and CEO of Viabtc and Coinex expressed, I am considering to build a new Bitcoin Fork inherit from BCH known as Bitcoin Cat. He stated that it is a Temporary Name. He also stated Car is Cuteness and Harmless. There won’t have a war.
Dennis Jarvis, CEO of Bitcoin.com tweeted: “If you’re seeking the optimal outcome for Bitcoin Cash in November, the choice is not between competing optimizations (which are each intended to accomplish the same thing)… the choice is “no split”. Let’s please come together and choose #NOSPLIT. #BCH.”
This is coming at a point in time when the debate about the Bitcoin Cash Difficulty Algorithm is heating up. There were fears of another chain split and that seems to be just round the corner.
The next Bitcoin Cash Upgrade is just 3 months away. Previously, there was a quarrel around the Infrastructure Funding Proposal (IFP) and tensions were deriving from the Difficulty Algorithm Adjustment (DAA) discussion and it is all about replacing the existing DAA.
Lot of cold fights are happening in the community and among the BCH developers. The IFP tensions were forever brewing and now adding fuel to the fire is the DAA discussion.
The Gitlab has specifications about Aserti3-2d the DAA concept from Jonathan Toomim. The entire code for the BCHN full node is hosted on the “Bitcoin Cash upgrade specifications” page.
Of note on August 03, 2020, the Bitcoin Cash Developers were in a DAA meeting and tweets stated that the meeting did not go well. Several people walked out of the meeting.
Chris Pacia tweeted about the discontentment and following that Ethereum’s Vitalik Buterin tried to discuss the subject at length with BCH supporters from both sides of the argument.
The littering of discussions regarding the issue is available in all major forums like Reddit, Twitter and in several other places.
On August 05, 2020, one of the publications read, “we will deploy the aserti3-2d difficulty adjustment algorithm (Asert DAA) on Bitcoin Cash (BCH) on November 15th, 2020, as designed by Mark Lundeberg and implemented by Jonathan Toomim alongside other accredited contributors of the ecosystem.”
The announcement was also signed digitally by several members lists of which are available online.
While several BCH community members are not interested, a split is probably unavoidable. Despite repeated reinstatements that there will be no good outcomes from forking or splitting, something terrible is on the dice.
